People should take the 2012 thing with a big grain of salt. It is very unlikely that the Mayan knew anything about the year 2012. They never even predicted the end of their own civilization. Like Y2K and predictions about the start of this millenium 2012 is a money making scam by the doomsday industry. And as the year 2000 came and went without any of the predictions coming true so will 2012 likely pass with no doomsday or dawn of a new age.

if we want change in this world we will have to work for it and not hope for some ancient prophecy to unfold. 2012 like other new age woo is just a comforting fairy tale that can distract us from making any real effort toward social and political change.

"It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

p.s. David Icke should also be taken with a big grain of salt. Among other things he pushes nonsense about the Illunianati conspiracy and he also pushes the discredited pack of lies called "Protocols of the Ellders of Zion" Icke is an anti-semite.

here are two links about those subjects

If you think it's nonsense, then don't listen to david icke.

The reason I said he gets it, is that he spoke of the need for everyone to experience their emotional backlog and clear it out so that we can see the truth for ourselves. He is talking about freeing ourselves by taking responsibility for how we empower those in power over us.

It's easy for those who have never experienced the things he talks about to dismiss them as hokey. I grew up in an illuminati household, and they had been a part of this for many generations. I was tortured and handled by these people. Icke isn't an anti semite, no more than I am. He simply reveals the corruption in all arenas and ethnicities and governments.

When I first read one of his books, I thought he was crazy too. Not anymore.

So, what if the things he says are true? What about zeitgeist? and have you listened to the zeitgeist addendum?

It all says the same thing. WAKE UP and take a second look. Wake up and stop empowering the machine that is killing you/me/us.

        AND.........

I'm crazy, so no one should ever listen to me.

keep in mind the way the aztecs wrote their calender would necessitate that it end, not even for any world ending reason, but because if it lasted forever someone would still be writing it. most likely they wrote to the beginning of an important cycle, and figured that when that date got closer they'd cross that bridge then... :)

what is this 2012 "thing" that they didnt get? It's all about astrology, peeps, not predicting the course of events on earth. the best explanation of 2012 i have found without doing enough research to write a thesis on it is this:

                www.youtube.com/watch

                www.youtube.com/watch

                www.youtube.com/watch

etc...as for David Icke, i think he has nothing but the deepest good intentions for you and me. gawl bless him!

David Icke or anybody with good intentions would not quote from such drivel as 'protocols of the elders of zion" I question his intentions.

                  As for astrology

I question your charge about it. That's what Icke was talking about. Look at the emotions being held in the body and see what they are about. Where does the fear come from? Is it really about this, or something else? If he is just a crackpot, then why does this upset you so?

If I were to base this idea of truth or nonsense on the people I know. I wouldn't like anyone. Everyone is full of shit in one way or another. Even me.

I'm talking about polarization to one thing or another based on strong emotions. I would look for the fear and see what it's about.

I mean, I have friends who spout off all day long about this conspiracy theory or that. I do believe there is a grain of truth to alot of this stuff, but held in fear makes it look more ominous. I know a lot of crazy folks, mostly from THIS community, and honestly, the spiritual focus here could be called fanatical, and looks that way to some. It's all a matter of perspective, and using the intuition to find what's real is the only way to know the difference. So I face and move my fear. I sit with it to see what it's about. Usually it's something from my childhood/past life projected onto the now.

And it's not that I think that 2012 is going to magically make everything perfect. Everything is already happening. Essence is getting sorted and going to it's right place. This I can see clearly. And seeing clearly is the point of all this 2012 nonsense. That we move emotions held in our magnetic fields so that we can see the truth, and not just our fear and terror. Otherwise, everything happening LOOKS like the apocalypse to those who are full of fear. It will look like healing to me, because I've been moving fear out for a decade now. How about you?

Just asking, because you posted that bit by carl sagan. I loved him and his curiosity, but it's a dangerous thing when science also acts like it knows everything when it doesn't.

I think the Mayan 2012 thing is coincidental to the times. I don't believe that the world is coming to an end. Isn't it weird how many people want that to happen? It kinda freaks me out. I guess it's because there are so many who don't belong here. They aren't in their right place, in the place that is their home, that feels best to them. So many people don't remember how they got here or why they are here. I believe so totally and fiercely that we can remember who we are and where we have come from. I've remembered. I'm from here. But as I said, I've been sitting with my fears for 10 plus years now, and understand that moving them out makes a huge difference in how I perceive things around me, even myself.

And don't forget, I said I'm crazy, so no one should listen to me. :-)

Daisy, As to the god of the Bible I am an atheist and reject him out of hand. As for other possible gods I am agnostic.

I agree that science does not know everything. Science is just one way to ask about things and draw some informed conclusions. Threre should be no dogmas in science, but I admit some people are dogmatic about it. I guess it is fair to call me a faerie with a scientific bent since I hold no formal trainning in science.

Like Sagan I believe science can be one tool that humanity can use to help get us out of the mess we are all in. Scientists (those not in the pay of the polluters) have alerted us to the reality of climate change. Scientific studies of human sexuality lead to the removal of homosexuality as an illness. In the mid 1990's medical science developed some medicines that are keeping many of our friends with HIV alive. It was medical science that discoverd what AIDS was in the 1980's. Because of that people learned that something as simple as a condom could save lives. Without science we would not be aware that germs cause disease which was a discovery that lead to public sanitation.

Science has also been used for great evils like the work done by nazi doctors or development of the atomic bomb or scientists who use their trainning to show the Pentagon how to develop new ways to kill people. Science is a tool that can be used for good or for bad.
