Well great circle was nothing short of Spectacular.
after hearing the opening ritual on the first day (by phone and sitting on the conference call for the first day... I crammed the car full of stuff I wanted to take to wolf creek and was on the road by 7PM, 2 cups of coffee (More than I drink the rest of the year) and about 7.5 hours later... I was watching the sunrise at the fire pit in a magical sort of low laying fog at wolfcreek.
GreatCircle tends to bring the full range of emotion in most cases... and this one was No different in that regard. but the level of work that was accomplished was Very Impressive and it seemed like personal attacks were at an all time low.
Most of this was due to our incredible facilitator Brush. What A Guy!
thank you so much brush for the healings you brought to us... and all the work we got done.
there was some over reaching things that came to me as we worked... there were a few things that seemed pretty Unanimous ...
1 that Nomenus IS a Gay Men’s Church.
2 that return to Subject/Subject consciousness is a core value that needs resuscitation.
3 that although we are NON Higherarcal in Nature. that we do have a structure in place that can handle almost any conflict or project... if we use the structure.
starting with personal responsibility for our own boundaries and conflicts. (I can expand on this more if people are interested.)
4 that although we all agreed (almost unanimously) that M4M Space is NOT outdated and unnecessary, that in fact it is a primary purpose of the sanctuary and given that (by almost unanimous agreement again... that there is room on the land for our Friends. even those of opposite gender or those somewhere in the middle...
that there is a place for ALL that, on the land throughout the year at various times.
New officers were concensed , all from the younger membership and they seem to be very much in line with the new vision of what has been worked out for the land as well as our core values, committed to seeing The Church of Nomenus Wolf Creek Sanctuary ... Not only respect male4male space... but making the land accessible to our Friends as well. a problematic balence ... but I have faith that it IS in the works, and that all who are sensitive to this issue will find some peace and satisfaction in the work done toward this.
5 All things can be worked out in HeartCircles... and that they could solve ALOT of conflicts before they become factionist if we would remember to make use of them. call them when they are NOT ‘Needed’ and maybe people would learn the that they are not boring places to be avoided... but a place to KNOW people on a much accelerated process.
we have also seen in GC that ‘grievance’ You Know where one or more faeries treat you with less than Subject?Subject consciousness, should find mediation and facilitation up the chain of escalation.
meaning that if you have a conflict with someone you try to work it out with them... then if that does not work you find peers to advocate for you... or stand with you when you confront those who have ‘done you wrong’... if that does not work a heartcircle Fish Bowl maybe the answer ... and in the case of Nomenus business, the same model applies with COTL COCO and GreatCircle being the chain of appeal.
this is the way Faes work things out.
one of the things that came out of GC this time... is DAMN it takes alot of energy and WORK to sit through it and DO THE WORK. that sometimes it is Tedious to let a Group Brain Trust, find the best solutions it can... some times it takes compromise... and some time it takes Standing aside to trust the larger body of thinking in some cases...
but the Satisfaction is in Facing the Dragon and DOING the WORK.
when it is over you have this since of connection and satisfaction... and a feeling that you are connected with something even greater than you thought.
the experiment is alive and well... this great Circle was Really Great!
hope more of you will come and participate in the process. taking the time to sit and observe and learn how it is done before you cast stones.
